Seeds 4 Success surgió de las preocupaciones de los vecinos por el incremento en crimen en las comunidades de viviendas públicas cercanas y el bienestar de los niños que viven ahí. Con un cheque de $500 de una asociación civil local, siete señoras comenzaron un club para niñas. Desde el principio, las niñas pidieron ayuda con su tarea escolar. Las señoras rápidamente llegaron a entender los bastantes temas que enfrentan los niños que crecen con pocos recursos.
Girls in grades 3–8 living in an Annapolis low-income or public housing community. Girls typically begin in 3rd or 4th grade after referral by school counselors, staff from the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA), or parents/caregivers.
Eastport Girls Club (EGC) graduates in grades 9–12. S4S provides college & career exploration and prep, along with academic counseling, mentoring, and service learning opportunities.
Boys in grades 1–2 attending Eastport Elementary School. A teacher or school administrator refers rising first-grade students meeting the IAR Selection Criteria for participation in the program.
Parent Challenge uses research-based strategies to bring families together with a positive focus, offers parent education in a non-threatening manner, provides incentives, and breaks down change into concrete, manageable steps.
